tip2tail Disk Library

Welcome to tip2tail.co.uk. My new website will be online shortly in the meantime I have created this page to provide some information on the Disk Library application I have created.

About

Having recently had a tidy out of all my loose CDs and DVDs, and with rapidly dwindling storage space on the PC itself I decided it was time to start using some disk storage drawers that I purchased years ago.

I quickly realised that once the disks were in the drawers I would need an easy way to find something I required, and so the tip2tail Disk Library project was born.

The application allows a user to create a searchable database of disks, that are stored in multiple locations with descriptions, notes, media type and item type. This information is displayed in a simple table format. Users can add, edit and remove Item Types and Locations via the application settings.

The application is now feature complete enough to be released. I have decided to release the application as an Open Source application. This means you are free to download and use this application as well as distribute it in any way you wish so long as you retain credit to me. It is released under the GPL license, and uses icons that are used under the terms of a Creative Commons license.

Future

I plan on updating the application over the next few weeks with some other features such as:

The source code is written in Microsoft Visual Studio Express C# 2008 (free download). The installer script is compiled using InnoSetup (free download).
